Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety warning: High voltage and microwave radiation hazards exist inside the unit. Unplug the microwave and do not remove the outer cabinet unless you are trained. Many magnetron-related repairs should be done by a qualified technician.
- Power cycle: Unplug the appliance for 5–10 minutes and reconnect to see if the code clears.
- Clean interior: Wipe the oven cavity, especially near the vent openings and sensor area (often on the upper left side wall), with a mild detergent solution, then dry thoroughly.
- Inspect humidity sensor: On many Samsung models, the humidity sensor is mounted behind a small grill or cover inside the cavity or behind the control panel. If accessible without removing the outer cabinet, check for obvious damage or heavy grease buildup.
- Check wiring (advanced): If you can safely remove the control panel, locate the humidity sensor connector on the PCB and ensure it is firmly seated. Look for corrosion or broken wires.
- Replace sensor if needed: If cleaning and reseating connections do not clear 'E-11', the humidity sensor assembly should be replaced. If a new sensor does not resolve the issue, the main PCB may be defective and should be serviced by a technician.
