Possible Causes
Use of metal utensils, overheating on high sauté settings, abrasive cleaning pads, age-related wear of nonstick coating.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not ingest flaking coating; discontinue use of a severely damaged pot.
- Switch utensils: Use only wooden, silicone, or plastic utensils to avoid further damage.
- Avoid abrasives: Clean with soft sponges and non-abrasive cleaners.
- Replace pot: If the coating is visibly peeling or pitted, replace the inner pot with a genuine All-Clad replacement.
Continuing to use a badly worn pot can affect cooking performance and is not recommended.
