Possible Causes
Stuck or shorted keypad button, damaged touch membrane, loose keypad ribbon cable, or a failed EOC keypad interface.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the control panel.
- Check for stuck keys: With the power off, press each button firmly several times to free any stuck key. Clean the surface with a mild cleaner and dry completely.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel and locate the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the EOC. Disconnect and inspect for cracks, corrosion, or bent contacts. Reseat it firmly.
- Isolate keypad vs board: If possible, power on the oven with the keypad disconnected. If F7 still appears, the EOC is likely faulty. If the code disappears, the keypad/touch panel is defective.
- Replace faulty component: Replace the touchpad or the entire control panel assembly if the membrane is faulty. Replace the EOC if the keypad tests correctly but the code persists.
- Reassemble and test: Restore power and verify that all buttons respond correctly and the F7 code is cleared.
