Possible Causes

Failed clock PCB, power supply fault to clock, damaged wiring harness, internal clock relay failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains before removing the control fascia.

  • Reset clock: After a power cut, some Neff ovens require the time to be set before heating will work. Try setting the time according to the user manual. If E012 persists, continue.
  • Power cycle: Turn off power for 10 minutes, then restore. Observe if the display returns or remains blank with E012.
  • Inspect clock module: Remove the control panel and locate the clock/timer PCB. Check for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or signs of moisture damage.
  • Check connectors: Ensure all plugs to the clock module are fully seated and that no pins are corroded.

If the clock module is dead or cannot be set, replacement of the clock/timer PCB is usually required. In some models, the clock is integrated into the main control board, which must then be replaced as a unit.
