Neff oven emits a burning smell or smoke during normal cooking (not first use)

Safety first: If heavy smoke appears, switch off the oven and ventilate the room. Do not leave the oven unattended.

• Inspect cavity: Once cool, check for food or grease on heating elements and cavity surfaces. Clean with an appropriate oven cleaner (avoid spraying directly on heating elements or sensors).
• Check elements and wiring: Remove rear and top covers to inspect for signs of burning on heating elements or wiring.
• Test on low heat: After cleaning, run the oven empty at a moderate temperature to burn off any remaining residues while monitoring for smells.

If the burning smell persists and no residue is visible, internal components may be overheating and should be inspected by a qualified technician.
