Possible Causes
One circuit of dual grill element open, loose connection on one side of element, selector switch not energising both circuits
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven and allow the grill area to cool fully.
- Visual check: Turn the grill on briefly and observe which part glows red (do this only once, then switch off and cool). If only one side glows, the other circuit is likely failed.
- Continuity test: Access the grill element terminals and test each circuit separately if possible. Replace the grill element if one side is open circuit.
- Check connections: Ensure both live feeds from the selector switch are firmly connected to the element.
- Selector switch: If the element tests good, test the selector switch outputs for both grill circuits. Replace the switch if one output is dead.
