How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill and ensure the auger is not moving before inspection.
- Step 1 – Empty hopper: Remove pellets to expose the auger intake. Check for foreign objects.
- Step 2 – Inspect auger alignment: Access the auger motor and verify that the motor mount is secure and the shaft is centered in the tube.
- Step 3 – Remove and inspect auger: Detach the motor and pull the auger from the tube. Look for bends, scoring, or debris. Clean and lightly sand rough spots.
- Step 4 – Lubrication: Do not use oil inside the auger tube. If the motor bearings are noisy, replace the Monument auger motor rather than lubricating.
- Step 5 – Reassemble: Reinstall the auger and motor, ensuring smooth rotation by hand before powering up.
