Tepro
Temperature Overshoot/Control Instability
The pellet grill overshoots the set temperature by 30–60°C and struggles to stabilize.

Possible Causes
RTD probe coated in heavy grease, RTD probe positioned too close to the fire pot, incorrect P-setting or feed rate, control board calibration drift
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the grill to cool before touching the probe or internal components.
- 1. Clean RTD probe: Gently scrub the probe with a non-abrasive pad and mild degreaser to remove baked-on grease. A dirty probe responds slowly and can cause overshoot.
- 2. Check probe location: Ensure the probe is mounted on the side wall away from direct flame and not shielded by foil or pans.
- 3. Reset control settings: Restore factory P-settings or feed parameters according to the Tepro manual. Avoid aggressive custom settings unless you understand their effect.
- 4. Compare with reference thermometer: Place a reliable oven thermometer at grate level to compare readings. If the control consistently reads far off, consider replacing the RTD or control board.
