The pump runs but there is very low flow at the pool returns, resulting in weak jets and poor skimming.

Safety first: Always turn off the pump at the breaker before opening lids or valves.

• Clean pump and skimmer baskets: Remove all baskets and clear leaves, hair, and debris. Ensure baskets are not cracked and seat correctly.
• Backwash or clean filter: Service the AstralPool sand or cartridge filter as per the manual to restore normal pressure and flow.
• Check valve positions: Confirm that suction and return valves are fully open for normal filtration.
• Inspect impeller for blockage: Remove the pump lid and basket, then reach into the volute to feel for debris in the impeller eye. If blocked, remove the pump wet end housing to clear the impeller thoroughly.
