AEG
Induction Acoustic Noise / Coil Vibration
Hob makes a loud buzzing or humming noise when using induction zones
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Thin or multi-layer cookware causing magnetostriction noise, High power level on a large zone, Loose induction coil mounting, Faulty coil insulation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: Some low-level humming is normal with induction hobs, especially at high power.
Steps:
- Test with different induction-compatible pans; heavy, thick-based pans usually reduce noise.
- Reduce the power level slightly or use the PowerBoost function only when necessary.
- If the noise is metallic, rattling, or much louder than before, internal components may be loose.
A technician inspection may be needed to check coil mounting brackets and insulation. Tightening or replacing the coil assembly can reduce abnormal noise.
