Gas oven lights but then goes out or cycles off too soon

Safety first: Turn off gas and power before cleaning or replacing parts.

• Clean burner: Remove the burner assembly and clean ports with a soft brush to ensure even flame.
• Inspect igniter: If the igniter is old or has hairline cracks, replace it. Weak igniters can cause short cycling.
• Check flame pattern: After reassembly, restore gas and power and observe the flame. It should be blue and even across the burner.
• Replace gas valve if needed: If a new igniter does not resolve the issue, the gas valve may be failing and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
