Controller shows E08, and the generator will not accept load; frequency reading is out of range.

Safety: Do not connect power with unstable frequency to loads. Isolate from mains and critical equipment.

• Measure frequency: Use a frequency meter or a multimeter with a Hz function at the generator terminals. Confirm if the frequency is low or high compared to the rated frequency (e.g., 50 Hz or 60 Hz).
• Check engine speed: Inspect the mechanical governor linkage or the electronic actuator on the JCB engine. Ensure there is no binding and that the speed adjustment screw has not been tampered with.
• Load test: If the frequency drops only under load, reduce the load and see if the frequency recovers. Persistent droop may indicate governor wear or an incorrect fuel setting.
• Inspect speed sensor: For electronic governors, check the speed sensor at the flywheel and its wiring to the governor module and controller.
• Adjust governor (qualified personnel): Fine-tune the governor speed setting to achieve the correct no-load frequency, then verify under typical load. Follow JCB/engine manufacturer procedures.
