E01
Generator controller displays E01 and the engine will not crank when a start command is given.
Emergency Stop / Remote Stop Active
E02
Controller shows E02 and the engine cranks but does not fire, then locks out on shutdown.
Low Fuel Pressure / Fuel Supply Fault
E03
E03 displayed and engine shuts down shortly after starting, with fuel present and normal cranking.
Overspeed Shutdown
E04
Controller shows E04 and prevents start; engine may have shut down previously under load.
Low Oil Pressure Shutdown
E05
E05 displayed and engine shuts down after several minutes of running, often under higher load.
High Engine Coolant Temperature Shutdown
E06
Controller shows E06 and the generator will not connect to load; engine may run normally.
Low AC Voltage / Under‑Voltage Protection
E07
E07 displayed and generator output voltage is higher than normal or the controller trips immediately on start.
High AC Voltage / Over‑Voltage Protection
E08
Controller shows E08, and the generator will not accept load; frequency reading is out of range.
Under-Frequency / Over-Frequency Protection
E09
E09 displayed; the engine cranks but fails to start and then locks out after several attempts.
Failed to Start / Start Timeout
E10
E10 displayed and the engine shuts down; the controller indicates high battery voltage or a charging fault.
Battery Over-Voltage / Charger Fault
E11
Controller shows E11 and prevents starting; battery voltage reading is low.
Low Battery Voltage
E12
E12 displayed; the engine shuts down and the controller indicates low coolant level or coolant loss.
Low Coolant Level Alarm
E13
E13 displayed and the engine shuts down; the controller indicates high engine oil temperature or lube oil over-temperature.
High Oil Temperature Shutdown
E14
E14 displayed; the controller indicates low fuel level or a fuel leak alarm and may inhibit automatic start.
Low Fuel Level / Fuel Leak Alarm
E15
E15 displayed and the engine shuts down; the controller indicates generator over-current or short-circuit.
Over-Current / Short-Circuit Protection Trip
E16
E16 displayed; the controller indicates a phase sequence or phase rotation error and refuses to close to load.
Phase Rotation / Phase Sequence Fault
E17
E17 displayed; the controller indicates a mains failure input fault or an ATS feedback error.
Mains Sensing / ATS Feedback Fault
E18
E18 displayed; controller indicates a CANbus or communication error with the engine ECU.
Engine ECU Communication Fault
E19
E19 displayed; the controller indicates a sensor input out of range (generic analog input fault).
Analog Sensor Out of Range
E20
E20 displayed; the controller indicates an earth fault / ground fault on the generator output.
Earth Fault / Ground Fault Protection Trip
Symptom
A noticeable diesel smell around the generator, even when no visible leaks are present.
Fuel Vapor / Minor Seepage
Symptom
Automatic transfer switch (ATS) does not transfer to generator supply during mains failure, but generator runs normally.
ATS Control / Interlock Fault
Symptom
Blue or bluish-white smoke from exhaust, especially at startup or light load.
Oil Burning / Internal Engine Wear
Symptom
Control panel display is on but buttons are unresponsive or menus freeze intermittently.
Controller Keypad / Firmware Glitch
Symptom
Control panel is completely dead; no display or indicator lights when battery is connected.
Control Power Loss
Symptom
Coolant puddles under the generator or steam visible from the radiator area during operation.
External Coolant Leak
Symptom
Corrosion and rust visible on the generator's base frame and around its mounting points.
Structural Corrosion / Environmental Degradation
Symptom
Excessive black smoke from the exhaust when the generator is under load.
Over-Fueling / Incomplete Combustion
Symptom
Generator enclosure becomes excessively hot; paint may discolor near exhaust or radiator.
Inadequate Ventilation / Overheating Enclosure
Symptom
Generator fails to stop when commanded by the controller; engine continues running.
Fail to Stop / Shutdown Circuit Fault
Symptom
Generator output voltage is normal, but frequency is low or high, causing equipment issues without a trip.
Incorrect Engine Speed / Frequency Drift
Symptom
Generator vibrates excessively during operation, causing noise and possible movement on its mounts.
Excessive Vibration / Mounting Fault
Symptom
High-pitched whining or grinding noise from the alternator end of the generator.
Alternator Bearing Wear
Symptom
Loud knocking or metallic banging noise from the engine under load.
Engine Knock / Internal Mechanical Fault
Symptom
The engine cranks slowly or not at all, with no specific error code on the controller.
Weak Cranking / Starting System Degradation
Symptom
The engine starts but immediately stalls or hunts at idle without any logged code.
Unstable Idle / Fuel Delivery Irregularity
Symptom
The generator runs but produces no AC voltage at the terminals, with no specific code on basic controllers.
Loss of Excitation / No Output
Symptom
The generator trips its main breaker when large motor loads start, even though the total kW is within its rating.
High Inrush / Motor Starting Issue
Symptom
Visible diesel leakage around the base frame or inside the canopy, with no specific controller alarm.
Fuel System Leak
Symptom
White smoke from exhaust and rough running, particularly on cold start.
Poor Cold Combustion / Fuel Atomization Issue
