Safety: Allow the engine to cool. Do not run with suspected lubrication issues.

• Check oil level: Verify the oil is at the correct level on the dipstick. Top up if low and investigate for leaks.
• Inspect oil cooler: If the JCB engine uses an external oil cooler, check for blocked fins or restricted coolant flow (for water-cooled types).
• Load check: Review recent load conditions. Continuous operation above the rated kW can raise oil temperature. Reduce the load to within the nameplate rating.
• Sensor and wiring: Locate the oil temperature sensor and inspect the wiring to the controller. Replace the sensor if readings are clearly abnormal compared to coolant temperature.
• Persistent high temperature: If the oil temperature remains high with normal load and cooling, consult a technician to inspect internal lubrication passages.
