Possible Causes
Water still present in drum, Door lock mechanism jammed, Control board not sending unlock signal, Handle or latch broken
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off and unplug the washer. Do not force the door open.
- Check for water: If water is visible, manually drain via the pump filter and run a drain/spin cycle.
- Wait for lock delay: Many AEG locks release 2–5 minutes after power off.
- Use emergency release: Access the manual release cord near the pump filter (if fitted) and pull gently to open the door.
If the door remains stuck or the problem recurs, the door lock assembly or handle mechanism should be replaced.
