Possible Causes
Detergent residue clogging air trap on tub, Blocked pressure hose, Heavy limescale build-up in pressure chamber
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and ensure the drum is empty of water.
- Locate air trap: On the side or bottom of the tub there is a plastic chamber where the pressure hose connects.
- Clean air trap: Remove the hose and, if possible, remove the air trap from the tub. Rinse thoroughly under hot water to remove sludge and residue. Use a small brush if needed.
- Clear hose: Blow through the pressure hose to ensure it is clear.
Reassemble and run a rinse cycle. If E38 persists, the pressure sensor or control board may need further diagnosis.
