Possible Causes
Defective door lock mechanism, Control board not sending unlock signal, Wiring fault to door lock, Water still detected in drum
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power. Do not force the door open as this can break the lock and hinge.
- Check for water in drum: If water is present, manually drain via the pump filter and run a drain cycle.
- Wait for lock to cool: Some locks remain engaged for a few minutes after power off. Wait 2–5 minutes and try again.
- Emergency release: Many AEG models have a manual door release near the pump filter. Open the filter flap and pull the colored tab or cord to release the door.
- Inspect and replace lock: If the problem repeats, replace the AEG door lock assembly.
