Possible Causes
Failed heating element, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Wiring fault to heater, Control board heater relay failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and allow time for any hot water to cool.
- Access heater: On many AEG models, the heater is at the rear of the tub behind the rear panel.
- Test element: Disconnect the heater terminals and measure resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
- Check NTC sensor: The NTC is usually mounted in the heater bracket. Measure its resistance; it should change with temperature and not be open or shorted.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure all connectors are tight and wires undamaged.
If heater and NTC are good, the control board may be faulty and should be checked by a technician.
