Possible Causes

Defective door lock interlock switch, Broken or misaligned door latch hook, Wiring harness issue between door lock and main control board, Faulty main control board (PCB)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer from the mains and turn off the water supply before any work. Do not bypass the door lock for operation; this is a critical safety device.

  • Step 1 – Inspect the door and latch:
    • Open and close the door firmly several times. Ensure no clothing is trapped in the seal.
    • Check the metal/plastic latch hook on the door for cracks, looseness, or bending.
    • If the latch hook is damaged, replace it before proceeding.
  • Step 2 – Check the door lock assembly:
    • Remove the top cover (usually two screws at the back, then slide back and lift).
    • Remove the front retaining spring from the door gasket and peel the gasket back near the lock area.
    • Locate the door lock assembly on the front panel and remove its mounting screws.
    • Disconnect the wiring connector and inspect for burnt pins, corrosion, or loose fit.
    • If the lock casing is burnt, cracked, or smells burnt, replace the door lock assembly.
  • Step 3 – Test continuity (for advanced users):
    • With a multimeter set to continuity, test the lock terminals according to the wiring diagram (often printed on the back panel or in the control area).
    • No continuity where specified indicates a failed door lock.
  • Step 4 – Reassemble and test:
    • Install the new door lock assembly, reconnect the harness, and secure with screws.
    • Refit the door gasket and retaining spring, reinstall the top cover.
    • Plug the washer back in and run a short cycle to confirm the error is cleared.
  • If E01 persists: The issue may be with the wiring harness or main control board (PCB). At this point, contact an authorized Arctic service technician for board-level diagnostics.
