Possible Causes
Shorted NTC sensor, Heater relay stuck on, Wiring short in heater circuit, Faulty main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and allow it to cool if it has overheated. Do not touch internal metal parts immediately after a hot cycle.
- Run a cold rinse: After cooling and reconnecting power, attempt a cold rinse-only cycle. If E12 appears even on cold, the NTC sensor or wiring is suspect.
- Inspect NTC sensor: Access the heater/NTC assembly at the rear of the tub. Check the sensor connector and wiring for damage or corrosion.
- Test NTC: Use a multimeter to measure resistance at room temperature and compare to Haier specifications. Replace the sensor if readings are shorted (near 0 Ω) or far out of range.
- Check heater relay: If the heater is energized when it should not be (water gets hot on cold setting), the relay on the PCB may be stuck closed. This requires PCB repair or replacement by a technician.
