Possible Causes

Partial blockage in drain hose, Clogged pump filter, Weak drain pump motor, Obstruction in tub-to-pump sump hose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer. Prepare for water spillage when opening filters or hoses.

  • Check standpipe height: Ensure the Insignia washer's drain hose is installed at the correct height per manual. Too low can cause siphoning and drain issues.
  • Clean pump filter: Open the lower front access panel, unscrew the pump filter cap slowly, and drain water into a pan. Remove lint and debris from the filter and cavity.
  • Inspect drain hose: Detach the hose from the standpipe and check for clogs or buildup. Flush with water if necessary.
  • Check sump hose: Access the black rubber hose between tub and pump. Remove clamps and inspect for socks, coins, or other obstructions. Clear and reinstall securely.
  • Test pump performance: Reassemble, plug in, and run a drain/spin. If the pump is noisy, weak, or not moving water effectively, replace the Insignia drain pump.
