Possible Causes

Worn carbon brushes on universal motor (if fitted), Faulty motor tachometer sensor, Loose motor wiring harness, Defective motor or motor control circuit on power module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power. If the door is locked with water inside, drain via the filter before tilting or moving the machine.

  • 1. Reset and observe: Unplug for 5–10 minutes, reconnect, and try a spin-only program. Note if the drum attempts to turn or remains stationary before E06 reappears.
  • 2. Access motor: Remove the rear panel. Locate the drive motor at the bottom of the tub, connected by a belt.
  • 3. Check belt: Ensure the drive belt is intact and properly tensioned on both the motor pulley and drum pulley.
  • 4. Inspect wiring: Check the motor connector and wiring harness for loose plugs or damaged insulation. Reseat the connector.
  • 5. Check brushes (universal motor): If your V-ZUG model uses a brushed motor, remove the motor and inspect the carbon brushes. If they are worn to a few millimeters, replace them with compatible V-ZUG motor brushes.
  • 6. Tachometer check: Inspect the tachometer coil at the rear of the motor for damage or dislodgement. A broken tachometer will prevent correct speed feedback.
  • 7. Replace motor if needed: If the motor windings are open or the tachometer is defective and not separately replaceable, install a new V-ZUG drive motor assembly.
  • 8. Technician service: If the motor and wiring are good, the motor control stage on the power electronics board may be faulty and should be tested and replaced by a professional.
