Possible Causes

Defective door lock mechanism, Broken door handle or latch, Control module not sending unlock signal, Wiring fault to door lock

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ensure the drum is not full of hot water before attempting manual release. Disconnect mains power.

  • 1. Wait a few minutes: Some V-ZUG models delay door unlocking for safety. Wait 2–5 minutes after the cycle ends and check again.
  • 2. Power reset: Unplug the washer for 5 minutes, then reconnect and try to open the door.
  • 3. Manual release: Open the service flap at the bottom front. Many models have a manual door release pull cord near the drain filter. Gently pull to mechanically unlock the door.
  • 4. Inspect door lock: With the door open and power disconnected, remove the door seal retaining band and access the door lock assembly. Check for broken plastic parts or signs of overheating.
  • 5. Check wiring: Ensure the door lock connector is firmly seated and wires are intact.
  • 6. Replace door lock: If the lock does not actuate or release reliably, replace the V-ZUG door lock assembly.
  • 7. Technician diagnosis: If a new lock does not resolve E11, the control module output may be defective and should be tested by a professional.
