E12
V-ZUG
Foam / Suds Detection Fault
Washer displays E12 and stops during rinse or spin; often with excessive foam

Possible Causes
Excessive detergent use, Wrong type of detergent (non-HE), Faulty foam or pressure sensing, Drainage restriction causing foam build-up
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before opening the door if the drum is full of foam or water.
- 1. Let foam settle: Wait 30–60 minutes for foam to dissipate naturally, then try a drain/spin program.
- 2. Rinse cycle: Run an extra rinse-only program without detergent to flush remaining suds.
- 3. Adjust detergent use: Use only high-efficiency detergent suitable for front-loaders and follow V-ZUG dosage recommendations based on water hardness and load size.
- 4. Check drain system: Clean the drain pump filter and ensure the drain hose is not restricted, as poor drainage can increase foam retention.
- 5. Sensor check (advanced): If E12 recurs with normal detergent use, the pressure sensor or foam detection logic may be faulty. Inspect the pressure hose and sensor as for water level faults.
- 6. Technician service: Persistent E12 with correct usage may require replacement of the pressure sensor or control module by a V-ZUG technician.
