Safety first: Most RFID checks can be done without opening the unit.
- Check settings: In the NewMotion app/portal, verify that RFID authentication is enabled and that cards are correctly assigned.
- Test multiple cards: Try several known-good cards to rule out a single bad tag.
- Mounting interference: If the charger is mounted on a thick metal plate, the RFID range may be reduced. Consult NewMotion guidelines for mounting on metal surfaces.
- Inspect hardware: With power off, open the front cover and check the RFID reader module and antenna connection to the main PCB.
- Replace module: If connections are good and RFID remains unresponsive, replace the RFID reader/antenna assembly.
