Possible Causes

Tripped upstream MCB/RCD/RCBO, Blown internal fuse on Vestel power board, Failed internal SMPS power supply, Loose or broken incoming supply cable at terminals

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Work on mains circuits only if you are a qualified electrician. Always isolate at the main consumer unit and verify absence of voltage.

  • 1. Check consumer unit: Inspect the dedicated EV charger breaker and RCD/RCBO. Reset if tripped. If it trips again immediately, stop and investigate for faults.
  • 2. Verify supply at charger: With appropriate PPE and test equipment, confirm that voltage is present at the charger’s input terminals.
  • 3. Inspect internal fuse: Isolate power, remove the cover, and locate any internal fuses on the power board. Test continuity and replace with the same type and rating if blown. If it blows again, a deeper fault exists.
  • 4. Check terminal tightness: Ensure L, N, and PE conductors are securely clamped and not damaged.
  • 5. Test SMPS output: With power on and extreme caution, measure low-voltage outputs (e.g., 12 V, 5 V). If absent, replace the power supply board.
  • 6. Board replacement: If supply and SMPS are OK but the unit remains dead, replace the main control board.
