Possible Causes

Failed cooling fan motor, Blocked cooling air vents, Faulty cooling fan thermostat or sensor, EOC misreading control area temperature

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool. Some components near the control panel may still be hot.

Check airflow and fan:

  • Inspect the front and rear ventilation openings for grease, dust, or obstructions. Clean thoroughly to restore airflow.
  • Access the cooling fan (usually above the oven cavity, behind the control panel or rear cover). Verify that the fan blades spin freely.
  • With power restored briefly and with caution, start a bake cycle and confirm whether the cooling fan receives power and runs. If it hums or does not start, replace the cooling fan motor.
  • Check any thermal switch or sensor mounted near the control area for proper operation (continuity when hot, open when cool, depending on design). Replace if stuck or out of spec.
  • If the fan and sensor are good but F08 persists, the EOC may be misinterpreting the temperature and should be replaced.
