E01
Pump will not start, and the control panel displays E01 immediately after pressing the power button.
Overcurrent / Motor Overload Protection Triggered
E02
Pump stops shortly after starting, and the control panel shows E02, often accompanied by reduced water flow.
Low Water Flow / Flow Protection Error
E03
Pump display shows E03, and the motor does not run, often after a power surge or storm.
Motor Overheating / Thermal Protection Activated
E04
The control panel shows E04, and the pump will not start; this sometimes appears after water exposure to the control box.
Control Panel / PCB Communication Fault
E05
Pump display shows E05, and the unit shuts down; this may occur when the voltage supply is unstable.
Under-Voltage / Over-Voltage Protection
E06
The pump attempts to start, then stops and shows E06; this is sometimes accompanied by a humming noise from the motor.
Motor Start Failure / Capacitor Fault
E07
The display shows E07, and the pump stops; this may occur after running for some time under heavy load.
Overload / Overcurrent Protection (Sustained)
E08
Pump display shows E08, and the unit will not run; this is often associated with water detected inside the motor or control housing.
Water Ingress / Ground Fault Protection
E09
Pump display shows E09, and the unit cycles on and off rapidly or fails to start.
Internal Sensor / Hall or RPM Sensor Fault
E10
The pump display shows E10, and the unit will not respond to button presses.
Keypad / User Interface Failure
Symptom
Air bubbles are visible in the pool return, and the pump basket never completely fills with water.
Suction Air Leak
Symptom
Pump display is blank or very dim, but the motor still runs when commanded.
Display / Backlight Failure
Symptom
Pump lid is very difficult to remove or reinstall; may leak after reassembly.
Deformed Lid / O‑Ring Issues
Symptom
Pump loses prime and stops moving water after running normally for some time.
Loss of Prime / Suction Integrity Issue
Symptom
Pump motor housing becomes extremely hot to the touch during normal operation.
Overheating Motor
Symptom
Pump runs but makes a constant gurgling or slurping sound from the suction line.
Air Entrapment / Vortexing at Pool Inlet
Symptom
Pump runs but pool water remains cloudy or dirty despite circulation.
Inadequate Filtration / Bypass
Symptom
Pump runs but there is no water movement at all; return jets are completely still.
Loss of Prime / Blocked Impeller
Symptom
Pump timer or built‑in scheduling does not work; pump only runs in manual mode.
Timer / Control Logic Malfunction
Symptom
Pump trips the household breaker or GFCI immediately when plugged in or turned on.
Electrical Short / Ground Fault
Symptom
The pump emits a burning smell or visible smoke while running.
Electrical Overheating / Insulation Failure
Symptom
The pump emits a loud rattling or clattering noise while running.
Loose Components / Cavitation
Symptom
The pump housing or hoses vibrate and make a thumping sound when the pump starts or stops.
Water Hammer / Hydraulic Shock
Symptom
The pump hums but does not start; it may trip the breaker after a few seconds.
Locked Rotor / Start Circuit Failure
Symptom
The pump is unusually quiet and appears to be running, but the flow is much lower than normal.
Partial Impeller Damage / Slipping Coupling
Symptom
The pump makes a clicking sound but does not start; the display may flicker.
Relay Chatter / Insufficient Supply Voltage
Symptom
The pump runs but causes noticeable electrical interference (lights flicker, other devices reset).
High Inrush / Electrical Noise
Symptom
The pump runs but makes a loud grinding or screeching noise.
Worn Motor Bearings / Mechanical Wear
Symptom
The pump runs only at one speed, even if it is a multi-speed or variable-speed Bestway model.
Speed Control / Drive Fault
Symptom
The pump runs, but water flow is very weak at the pool return jets.
Restricted Flow / Hydraulic Obstruction
Symptom
The pump starts and stops repeatedly every few seconds without user input.
Intermittent Power / Thermal Cycling
Symptom
The pump vibrates excessively and may move on the ground during operation.
Imbalance / Mounting Vibration
Symptom
The pump will not start at all; there are no lights or display on the control panel.
No Power / Dead Pump
Symptom
Water is leaking from around the pump housing or motor connection.
Seal Failure / Housing Leak
Symptom
Water leaks from hose connections at the pump inlet or outlet.
