Amazon Smart Thermostat Intermittent Network Connectivity

The thermostat loses its Wi-Fi connection intermittently, but the HVAC still works.

Possible Causes

Weak Wi-Fi signal, router channel congestion, interference from other 2.4 GHz devices, overloaded router.

Note: HVAC control usually continues locally even when the cloud is offline.

Improve signal: Move the router closer to the thermostat or add a Wi-Fi extender/mesh node.
Change Wi-Fi channel: Log into your router and select a less congested 2.4 GHz channel (1, 6, or 11).
Reduce interference: Keep the router away from microwaves, cordless phone bases, and thick metal objects.
Router reboot schedule: Periodically reboot the router or update its firmware to improve stability.
