Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off and unplug the machine. Do not force the door open with tools that may damage the seal or glass.
- Step 1 – Wait for safety delay: Many Gram washer-dryers have a 1–2 minute delay before unlocking. Wait for this period and see if the lock releases.
- Step 2 – Drain water: If there is water in the drum, use the emergency drain (via the pump filter) to empty it. The door will not unlock if the water level is high.
- Step 3 – Use emergency release (if fitted): Some models have a manual door release tab near the pump filter. Pull it gently to open the door.
- Step 4 – Inspect door lock: Once the door is open and the machine is unplugged, remove the door gasket retaining band and access the door lock assembly. Check for mechanical damage or signs of overheating. Replace the door lock if it is physically stuck or tests as an open circuit.
If the lock is new and the wiring is intact, but E11 persists, the main control PCB may be faulty and should be serviced professionally.
