Possible Causes

Open or shorted NTC sensor, Loose NTC connector at heater bracket, Damaged wiring between NTC and PCB, Control board analog input failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer and allow it to cool before working near the heater.

  • Step 1 – Access the NTC sensor:
    • Remove the rear panel.
    • Locate the heater assembly at the bottom of the tub; the NTC sensor is usually clipped into the heater bracket.
  • Step 2 – Check connection:
    • Ensure the NTC connector is firmly attached and not corroded.
    • Clean any oxidation and reseat the connector.
  • Step 3 – Test NTC resistance (advanced):
    • Disconnect the NTC and measure its resistance at room temperature.
    • Typical values are 20–30 kΩ; consult Arctic data for exact specs.
    • A reading near 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open) indicates a faulty sensor.
  • Step 4 – Replace NTC if faulty:
    • Release the sensor from its clip and install a new Arctic-compatible NTC.
    • Reconnect the wiring and reassemble the rear panel.
  • If E12 persists with a good NTC and wiring, the control board may be defective and should be checked by a technician.
