Washer will not start cycle and door will not lock; display shows E01.

Safety first: Unplug the Candy washer from the mains and turn off the water supply before working on it.

Steps to check and fix:

• Inspect the door: Close the door firmly and check that the latch engages fully. Look for broken or bent latch hooks on the door.
• Reset the machine: Disconnect power for 5 minutes, then reconnect and try a short cycle. Sometimes the control board will clear a temporary fault.
• Access the door lock: Remove the front door seal clamp and gently pull back the gasket to access the door interlock on the front panel. On many Candy models, the interlock is held by 2 screws from the front.
• Check wiring: Inspect the wiring harness to the door lock for burnt connectors, loose plugs, or broken wires. Reseat the connector firmly.
• Test the interlock: With a multimeter (power still disconnected), test continuity across the lock terminals when the lock is engaged (refer to the wiring diagram on the back panel). If open circuit, replace the door interlock.
• Replace door lock: Fit a new Candy-compatible door interlock assembly, secure with screws, refit the gasket and clamp, then test a wash cycle.

When to call a technician: If the door lock and wiring are good, the fault may be on the main PCB, which should be diagnosed and replaced by a qualified technician.
