Possible Causes
One or more failed lithium-ion cells in the pack; excessive cell imbalance detected by the Battery Management System (BMS); battery pack aged beyond usable cycle life; internal BMS fault.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not attempt to open the battery pack. Damaging the casing can cause fire or chemical exposure.
- Try a different outlet: Confirm the charger is powered from a working electrical outlet.
- Check ambient temperature: Charge only at room temperature (15–25°C). If the battery is very cold or hot, allow it to stabilise before charging.
- Inspect for damage: Look for cracks, swelling, or leakage on the battery casing. If any of these are present, stop using the battery and dispose of it according to local regulations.
- Test with another battery (if possible): If another compatible battery charges normally on the same charger, the original pack is defective and must be replaced.
- Do not bypass safety: Never attempt to force-charge a battery that the charger has flagged as faulty. Replace the battery pack with a genuine Morphy Richards unit.
