Possible Causes
Dislodged tilt/impact sensor on PCB, Cracked control board, Loose internal connector after a drop, Damaged housing causing sensor misalignment
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery. Do not use a vacuum with a cracked housing that exposes internal parts.
- Step 1 – Visual inspection: Check the outer shell, handle, and dust bin latches for cracks or misalignment. Ensure the bin is properly seated and locked.
- Step 2 – Reset the unit: Remove the battery for 5 minutes, then reinstall it and attempt to power on while holding the power button for 3–5 seconds.
- Step 3 – Internal check (advanced): If the vacuum was dropped from a height, open the housing and inspect the control PCB. Look for a small tilt/impact sensor (often a small rectangular component) that may have broken off or has cracked solder joints.
- Step 4 – Reseat connectors: Gently press on all connectors and ribbon cables to ensure they are fully seated.
- Step 5 – Replace damaged parts: If the PCB is cracked or the sensor is physically damaged, replace the entire control PCB with a genuine Princess spare part. If the housing is broken and no longer supports the sensor correctly, replace the housing shell as well.
- Step 6 – Professional service: For structural damage or if you are unsure, have the vacuum inspected by an authorized service center.
