Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the breaker before opening the unit. Do not increase breaker size beyond Lectron’s specifications.
- 1. Verify charger rating vs. vehicle setting: Check the Lectron charger’s maximum current (e.g., 32 A, 40 A). If your EV or app allows setting the charge current, ensure it does not exceed the charger’s rating.
- 2. Check for overheating wiring: With power OFF, inspect the supply wires and terminal block for discoloration or melted insulation. Overheating can cause resistance and false overcurrent readings.
- 3. Confirm breaker size: Ensure the breaker matches the Lectron unit’s required circuit (e.g., a 40 A breaker for a 32 A EVSE). Oversized breakers are unsafe and can lead to damage.
- 4. Test with another vehicle: If possible, charge a different EV. If E06 only occurs with one vehicle, that vehicle’s onboard charger may be malfunctioning and drawing excessive current.
Resolution: If the wiring and breaker are correct and the fault occurs with multiple vehicles, the internal current sensor or main control board is likely defective. Replacement of the main control board by a qualified technician is recommended.
