Low Smoke Production
The pellet grill starts but produces very little smoke, and food lacks smoky flavor.

Possible Causes
Pellets burning too hot due to high airflow, Using high-BTU competition blend pellets, RTD probe reading low causing higher firepot temperature, Leaky cook chamber door gasket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Operate the grill outdoors in a well-ventilated area only.
- Use smoke settings: Set the Rösle controller to a dedicated smoke or low-temperature mode if available, which typically cycles the auger for more smoldering.
- Change pellets: Try a different hardwood pellet type (e.g., hickory, mesquite) known for stronger smoke. Avoid only fruitwood blends if you want heavier smoke.
- Check door seal: Inspect the lid gasket for gaps or damage. Replace the gasket if smoke is visibly leaking excessively around the lid.
- Reduce airflow: Ensure the chimney cap is adjusted per the manual; too much opening can reduce smoke dwell time.
- Verify temperature accuracy: Compare the displayed temperature with a grate-level thermometer. If the grill runs hotter than indicated, inspect and possibly replace the RTD probe.
