Geo
Intermittent Wi-Fi Connectivity
Thermostat frequently disconnects from Wi-Fi and drops offline in the Geo app, but local control still works.

Possible Causes
Weak Wi-Fi signal at thermostat location, Interference from other 2.4 GHz devices, Router power-saving or band-steering features, Marginal Wi-Fi module on Geo PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No high-voltage work is required.
- Step 1 – Check signal strength: In the Geo app or thermostat menu, view Wi-Fi signal strength. If low, move the router closer or install a Wi-Fi extender between the router and thermostat.
- Step 2 – Use 2.4 GHz only: Ensure the thermostat is connected to a 2.4 GHz SSID. Disable band steering or create a dedicated 2.4 GHz network if necessary.
- Step 3 – Reduce interference: Keep the router away from microwaves, cordless phones, and thick metal objects. Change the Wi-Fi channel to a less congested one (1, 6, or 11).
- Step 4 – Assign static IP: In your router settings, reserve a static IP address for the thermostat to prevent DHCP conflicts.
- Step 5 – Firmware update: Update both the router firmware and Geo thermostat firmware to the latest versions.
- Step 6 – Replace thermostat if module is unstable: If other devices are stable on Wi-Fi and only the thermostat drops, the internal Wi-Fi module may be failing. Replace the thermostat head unit.
