Glow-worm
Intermittent Cloud / App Connectivity
Thermostat frequently loses connection to the app but still controls heating locally
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Unstable Wi-Fi signal, Router power-saving features disconnecting idle devices, Outdated thermostat or app firmware, Overloaded router with many devices
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No mains work is required.
Steps:
- Check Wi-Fi signal strength at the thermostat location using a smartphone. If weak, move the router or add a Wi-Fi extender.
- Disable aggressive power-saving or "Wi-Fi eco" modes on the router that may disconnect idle devices.
- Update the thermostat firmware and mobile app to the latest versions.
- Assign a fixed IP address (DHCP reservation) to the thermostat in the router settings to reduce reconnection issues.
Remedy:
- If connectivity remains unstable while other devices are fine, the thermostat’s Wi-Fi module may be marginal. Replacement of the thermostat or internet gateway may be required.
