Possible Causes
Worn carbon brushes on Bosch universal motor (if fitted), Faulty motor tachometer sensor, Loose motor wiring connector, Defective motor control circuit on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before accessing the motor or underside.
- 1. Check drum movement: Rotate the drum by hand. It should turn smoothly without grinding or seizing. If it is very stiff, there may be a mechanical obstruction or bearing issue rather than an electrical fault.
- 2. Inspect motor connections: Remove the rear panel, locate the drive motor at the bottom of the tub, and check that the wiring plug is fully seated and free of burn marks.
- 3. Examine carbon brushes (if applicable): On Bosch washer-dryers with brushed motors, remove the motor and inspect the carbon brushes. If they are worn to less than ~1 cm, replace both brushes with genuine Bosch parts.
- 4. Check tachometer coil: Inspect the small tachometer module at the rear of the motor. Ensure it is firmly attached and the wiring is intact. A failed tachometer will prevent proper speed feedback.
- 5. Test after reassembly: Refit the motor and belt, plug in the machine, and run a spin test. If E07 persists, the motor windings or control board may be defective.
- 6. Professional service: Motor and PCB testing under load should be done by a qualified technician due to high voltages and complex electronics.
