Possible Causes
A stuck mechanical button, contamination under the touch panel, a damaged UI board, or a loose UI cable to the main board.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: Many ChargePoint home chargers are controlled primarily via app; this applies to models with local controls.
- Step 1 – Clean the surface:
- Wipe the front panel with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove dirt or residue.
- Avoid solvents that could damage the plastic.
- Step 2 – Check for physical sticking:
- Press each button several times to see if it returns freely.
- If a button is stuck, gently work it free; if it remains stuck, the front panel may need replacement.
- Step 3 – Use app as workaround:
- Control charging via the ChargePoint app while arranging repair.
- Step 4 – Internal inspection (qualified):
- With power off, open the housing and inspect the user interface (UI) board and its cable to the main board.
- Ensure connectors are fully seated.
- Step 5 – Replace UI board:
- If the fault persists, replace the front user interface / LED board.
