CP-A7
The charger reports a pilot signal fault; the vehicle does not recognize the charger; the app shows an EVSE communication error.
Pilot Signal Generation / Detection Failure
CP-A8
The charger reports a proximity switch fault; vehicle latch detection is not working; the plug may be difficult to remove or charging stops unexpectedly when the cable is moved.
Proximity Detection Circuit Failure
CP-A9
Charger reports relay self-test failure or an isolation fault; the unit refuses to energize the output.
Isolation / Self-Test Failure
CP-B0
The charger will not connect to Wi-Fi; the app cannot reach the charger; the LED may show normal charging status, but remote control and updates fail.
Wi-Fi Communication Failure
CP-B1
The charger cannot connect to the cellular network (for models with LTE); the app shows offline; local charging may still work.

CP-B2
The charger firmware update fails repeatedly; the app shows an update error; the charger may reboot frequently.
Firmware Update / Flash Memory Error
CP-B3
The charger reports an internal communication error between the logic board and the power board; charging is disabled.
Internal CAN / Serial Bus Communication Failure
CP-C0
The charger reports a stuck button or touch panel fault (for models with local buttons); the user cannot start or stop charging from the unit.
User Interface Button / Touch Sensor Failure
CP-C1
The LED ring or status lights are not working correctly; the charger otherwise charges normally; the app shows the correct status.
LED Indicator Failure
CP-C2
The RFID card reader on the charger (if equipped) does not recognize cards; the app still works.
RFID Reader Failure
CP-D0
The charger reports a schedule conflict or a time synchronization error; scheduled charging does not start at the expected time.
Real-Time Clock / Time Sync Error
Symptom
Breaker trips immediately or shortly after starting a charge, sometimes accompanied by a pop or smell near the panel.
Short Circuit or Overload on Supply Circuit
Symptom
ChargePoint app shows incorrect energy usage or cost for sessions; kWh seems too high or too low.
Energy Metering Inaccuracy
Symptom
Charger cable insulation shows cracks, cuts, or severe UV damage; internal conductors may be visible.
Physical Cable Damage
Symptom
Charger does not respect maximum current setting; draws more or less than configured according to external meter.
Current Limit Control Malfunction
Symptom
Charger emits a strong electrical or burning smell during or after charging; may or may not show errors.
Overheating Component / Insulation Breakdown
Symptom
Charger fails to start after a recent electrical storm; LEDs may be off or show fault; other home circuits work.
Surge Damage / SPD Failure
Symptom
Charger hums or vibrates excessively when mounted on the wall; noise transmits into the structure.
Mechanical Vibration / Resonance
Symptom
Charger makes loud buzzing or chattering noises during operation; may coincide with flickering LEDs or intermittent charging.
Noisy or Chattering Contactor / Coil
Symptom
Charger or cable becomes unusually hot during normal charging; plastic may feel soft or discolored near the connector.
Overheating Connector or Cable
Symptom
Charger randomly reboots during charging; LEDs go dark then restart; the session may stop or resume.
Unexpected Power Cycling / Brownout Reset
Symptom
Charger repeatedly loses connection to app or network but continues charging; offline/online notifications frequent.
Intermittent Network Connectivity
Symptom
Charging starts but stops after a few minutes without any visible error; LED returns to ready; the app may show the session ended by the EV.
