Possible Causes
Weak Wi-Fi signal at charger location, Incorrect Wi-Fi credentials configured in EVgo charger, Faulty internal Wi-Fi module, Router firewall blocking charger communication.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Network issues are low-voltage, but do not open the charger unless necessary. Charging may still be safe if only connectivity is affected.
- Check Wi-Fi signal: Use a phone near the EVgo charger to verify signal strength. If weak, move the router or add a Wi-Fi extender.
- Reconfigure network: Using the EVgo app or local web interface (if available), re-enter Wi-Fi SSID and password. Ensure the network is 2.4 GHz if the charger does not support 5 GHz.
- Router settings: Confirm that the router is not blocking outbound connections from the charger’s MAC address. Disable overly strict firewalls or parental controls for the charger.
- Reboot charger and router: Power-cycle both devices and check if E12 clears.
If E12 persists and other devices work fine on the same network, the EVgo Wi-Fi module or communication board may be defective and require replacement.
