Possible Causes
Disconnected or damaged Ethernet cable to Porsche wallbox, weak or lost Wi-Fi signal at charger location, faulty network interface on main control PCB, misconfigured IP or backend server settings in wallbox firmware.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Network issues are electrically low risk, but still turn off power before opening covers to access internal ports.
- Check physical connections: For Ethernet, ensure the cable is fully seated in the wallbox port and the router/switch. Replace the cable if the connector is loose or damaged.
- Verify Wi-Fi signal: If using Wi-Fi, check signal strength at the charger location with a smartphone. Improve coverage by relocating the router or adding a repeater.
- Restart network equipment: Power cycle the router and any intermediate switches, then reboot the Porsche wallbox.
- Check network settings: Log into the wallbox configuration interface and verify IP settings (DHCP/static), gateway, and DNS. Correct any misconfigurations.
- Technician interface test: If physical and configuration checks are good, the network interface on the main control PCB may be defective and require board replacement.
