Possible Causes

Incorrect Wi-Fi password or SSID, Weak Wi-Fi signal at charger location, Faulty Wi-Fi module on Rolec control PCB, Router blocking outbound connections or ports required by Rolec backend

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: This is a communication issue; electrical safety is usually unaffected.

  • Check router and internet: Confirm that your home Wi-Fi network and internet connection are working with other devices.
  • Signal strength: If the charger is far from the router or behind thick walls, consider moving the router, adding a Wi-Fi extender, or using a different band (2.4 GHz is usually more reliable for IoT devices).
  • Re-enter credentials: Using the Rolec app or web interface, forget the current network and re-enter the correct SSID and password. Ensure you are connecting to a 2.4 GHz network if required by the charger.
  • Router settings: Check that MAC filtering, client isolation, or firewall rules are not blocking the charger. Allow outbound connections on the ports specified by Rolec.
  • Hardware fault: If multiple networks fail and other devices work fine, the Wi-Fi module on the control PCB may be faulty. Replacement of the control PCB or Wi-Fi daughterboard may be necessary.
