ERR
Display shows 'ERR' when trying to set the temperature or timer; the oven may not start.
Invalid Keypad Entry or Control Logic Error
F0
F0 is displayed with beeping; oven controls may be disabled or behave erratically.
Function Key Stuck or Control Board Logic Fault
F1
Electronic range control beeps continuously, display shows F1 and oven functions are disabled or erratic.
Electronic Oven Control Keypad or Control Board Failure
F10
F10 is displayed, and the oven may overheat or shut down; this is sometimes accompanied by very high temperatures.
Runaway Oven Temperature / Sensor or Relay Failure
F2
Oven shuts off and displays F2, often after a preheat or during baking; may be accompanied by very high oven temperature.
Oven Over-Temperature or Shorted Temperature Sensor Circuit
F20
F20 is displayed on some newer Hotpoint electronic ranges; the oven may not heat or may shut off.
Oven Temperature Calibration or Sensor Range Error
F3
Oven will not heat properly and displays F3; may occur shortly after starting a bake or broil cycle.
Open or Shorted Oven Temperature Sensor Circuit
F4
Intermittent F4 error on display; oven may shut off or fail to reach the set temperature.
Intermittent or Shorted Oven Temperature Sensor Circuit
F5
F5 is displayed, and the oven may not start or may shut off; this is often associated with door switch or lock issues on self-clean models.
Oven Door Switch or Lock Switch Fault
F6
F6 is displayed, and the oven may not respond to temperature changes or may shut off unexpectedly.
Communication Error Between Keypad and Control Board
F7
The display shows F7, often accompanied by beeping; oven controls may be unresponsive, or random buttons appear to press themselves.
Stuck Key or Shorted Keypad Matrix
F8
F8 is displayed, and the oven may not start or may shut off unexpectedly; this is sometimes associated with cooling fan issues on models with electronic controls.
Oven Cooling Fan or Control Overheat Fault
F9
F9 is displayed, and the oven door may remain locked after a self-clean cycle, or the door lock will not engage for self-clean.
Oven Door Lock Circuit Failure
LOC
The display shows LOC or a lock icon; oven and sometimes cooktop controls are unresponsive, but the time display works.
Control Panel Child Lock / Control Lock Activated
LOCKED
Display shows 'LOCKED' and the oven door will not open, even when not in self-clean mode.
Door Lock Mechanism Stuck in Locked Position
PF
Display shows 'PF' or 'Power Failure' after an outage; the clock may be flashing and oven functions disabled until cleared.
Power Failure Indication
Symptom
Cooktop indicator light stays on even when all surface elements are turned off.
Stuck Surface ON Indicator Circuit
Symptom
Cooktop surface element stays on high and will not regulate temperature, even when the knob is turned down.
Shorted Infinite Burner Switch
Symptom
Electric coil surface element does not heat; the element may look burned or its terminals discolored.
Open Coil Element or Receptacle Failure
Symptom
Electric cooktop radiant element will not heat, but other elements work.
Open Radiant Surface Element or Infinite Switch Failure
Symptom
Oven door will not close fully; heat escapes and the oven temperature is unstable.
Oven Door Hinge or Gasket Failure

Oven door will not open after the self-clean cycle has completed and the oven has cooled.
Self-Clean Door Lock Stuck

Oven light will not turn on when the door is opened or when the light button is pressed.
