Possible Causes
Router blocking outbound ports used by the thermostat, Double NAT with mesh or 4G router, VPN or advanced firewall rules, ISP‑level restrictions.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Network configuration only; no electrical work.
Steps:
- Reboot the router and thermostat to refresh connections.
- Temporarily disable any VPN or advanced firewall rules to test connectivity.
- If using a 4G/5G router or CGNAT connection, check with your ISP whether outbound connections required by Glow‑worm devices are allowed.
- Place the thermostat in the router's DMZ or create an outbound allow rule for its IP address as a test (consult your router manual).
Remedy:
- If the device comes online when restrictions are lifted, adjust firewall rules permanently to allow the thermostat’s traffic.
- If still offline, contact Glow‑worm support with your router model and network details.
