Possible Causes
Incorrect Wi-Fi password, Weak Wi-Fi signal at the thermostat/gateway, Router using an unsupported security mode, DHCP disabled or misconfigured
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No mains wiring changes are required; work only with network settings.
Steps to check:
- Check signal strength: Use a smartphone near the Salus Wi-Fi thermostat or gateway to confirm a strong Wi-Fi signal. If weak, move the router or add a Wi-Fi extender.
- Re-enter credentials: In the Salus app, delete and re-add the device, carefully entering the correct SSID and password. Ensure you are connecting to a 2.4 GHz network if required by the device.
- Router settings: Ensure DHCP is enabled and that MAC address filtering is off or includes the Salus device. Use WPA2-PSK security if possible.
- Restart network: Power-cycle the router and Salus gateway/thermostat. Wait several minutes for reconnection.
Resolution: If Wi-Fi errors persist on multiple networks, the Wi-Fi module may be faulty. Replace the Wi-Fi thermostat or gateway.
