Stelpro
Intermittent Wi-Fi Connectivity
Thermostat frequently disconnects from Wi-Fi, or the app shows it as offline.

Possible Causes
Weak Wi-Fi signal at the thermostat location, congested 2.4 GHz channel, router power-saving features disconnecting idle devices, or a faulty Wi-Fi module on the Stelpro thermostat.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No high-voltage work is required for network troubleshooting.
Steps to improve Wi-Fi stability:
- 1. Check signal strength: Use your phone near the thermostat to check Wi-Fi signal bars. If weak, move the router closer or add a Wi-Fi extender.
- 2. Change Wi-Fi channel: Log into your router and switch to a less congested 2.4 GHz channel (1, 6, or 11). Avoid auto channel if it causes frequent changes.
- 3. Disable aggressive power saving: Turn off router features that aggressively disconnect idle clients, such as some "green" or power-saving modes.
- 4. Assign static IP (optional): Reserve a static IP for the thermostat in your router's DHCP settings to reduce reconnection issues.
- 5. Firmware updates: Update both the router firmware and the Stelpro thermostat firmware via the app.
- 6. Replace thermostat: If other devices have stable Wi-Fi but the thermostat continues to drop offline, the internal Wi-Fi module may be failing. Replace the thermostat.
Note: Metal electrical boxes and foil-backed insulation can attenuate Wi-Fi; consider relocating the thermostat if the signal remains poor.
