Possible Causes
Router blocking outbound ports, DNS issues, Incorrect time/date on router, Tuya cloud outage, Corrupted device token on thermostat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No need to open the thermostat for this issue.
Steps to troubleshoot:
- Check internet connectivity on other devices using the same Wi-Fi network.
- Restart your router and modem.
- Ensure that firewall settings on the router are not blocking outbound connections for IoT devices.
- Remove the thermostat from the Tuya/Smart Life app and re-add it, forcing a new cloud registration.
- If your network uses special DNS or VPN, temporarily disable them and test again.
- If the problem persists while other Tuya devices work fine, the thermostat’s cloud credentials may be corrupted; perform a factory reset on the thermostat and reconfigure.
